Megascolex spp. are the commonest earthworms available in Indian soils.Earth worms are put into milk to make them force out the soil in their guts.Then they are dried and used.It is said that they contain copper.Useful in Rheumatic and paralytic attacks.Mainly used in Parkinsonism disease.They contain up to 12% proteins and 1.5 % fats and an yellow amorphous substance that causes haemolysis in 1:8000 dilution and an bronchodilating principle.They also contain an antipyretic substance called lumbrifebrin
